Presentation on TPP and Cuba at Global Business Conference

On September 30, 2015, Evelyn Suarez gave a presentation entitled “International Trade Agreements and Emerging Markets” at the Global Business Conference in Hampton Roads, VA. Joining Evelyn on the panel were Tim Bennett, Director-General/CEO of the Trans-Atlantic Business Council, and Paul Bonicelli PhD, Professor of Government at Robertson School or Government, Regent University. The session description is below:

The session on “International trade agreements and emerging markets” will take a closer look at what the current U.S. administration is negotiating on this arena – such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). The Trans-Pacific Partnership, which includes the United States and 11 other countries, and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, which links the United States and the 28-member European Union will clearly be of importance since 95 percent of the world’s consumers are outside the United States. The session will take a closer look at what benefits these trade agreements may have for Virginia companies. This session will also look at the shift in trade policy towards Cuba. How may such policy affect Virginia companies? New opportunities?
